一、朗读 Read aloud
今天上数学课的时候，学校的警铃突然响了。
jīn tiān shàng shù xué kè de shí hou xué xiào de jǐng líng tū rán xiǎng le
During maths today, the school alarm suddenly rang.
老师说：“不要慌，这是火灾演习。”
lǎo shī shuō bú yào huāng zhè shì huǒ zāi yǎn xí
The teacher said, "Don't panic. This is a fire drill."
我们马上放下铅笔，排好队，跟着老师走出课室。
wǒ men mǎ shàng fàng xià qiān bǐ pái hǎo duì gēn zhe lǎo shī zǒu chū kè shì
We put down our pencils at once, lined up and followed the teacher out of the classroom.
我们不跑也不推，安静地走下楼梯，来到操场上的集合点。
wǒ men bù pǎo yě bù tuī ān jìng de zǒu xià lóu tī lái dào cāo chǎng shàng de jí hé diǎn
We didn't run or push. We walked quietly down the stairs to the assembly point on the field.

二、看图说话 Talk about the picture
老师：请你说一说图里的情景。
qǐng nǐ shuō yi shuō tú lǐ de qíng jǐng
Please describe what is happening in the picture.
范例：这是学校。老师带着四个学生走出课室，来到集合点。学生们排好队，站在老师旁边。老师手里拿着一块写字板。课室里一个人也没有。
zhè shì xué xiào lǎo shī dài zhe sì gè xué shēng zǒu chū kè shì lái dào jí hé diǎn xué shēng men pái hǎo duì zhàn zài lǎo shī páng biān lǎo shī shǒu lǐ ná zhe yí kuài xiě zì bǎn kè shì lǐ yí gè rén yě méi yǒu
This is a school. The teacher has led four pupils out of the classroom to the assembly point. The pupils are lined up next to the teacher. The teacher is holding a clipboard. Nobody is left in the classroom.

What is written on the whiteboard? What lesson were they having just now?

The teacher is taking the roll, because she wants to make sure every pupil has come out safely.
老师：听到火警铃声，我们应该怎么做？为什么？

When we hear the fire alarm, what should we do? Why?
范例：我们应该马上停下手里的事，跟着老师排队，安静地走到集合点。我们不可以跑，也不可以回去拿书包，因为安全最重要。

We should stop what we are doing at once, line up behind the teacher and walk quietly to the assembly point. We must not run, and we must not go back for our bags, because safety comes first.

三、会话 Conversation
情景：火灾演习的时候，你的同学说：“这只是演习，我们慢慢走，边走边聊天吧。”
huǒ zāi yǎn xí de shí hou nǐ de tóng xué shuō zhè zhǐ shì yǎn xí wǒ men màn màn zǒu biān zǒu biān liáo tiān ba
During a fire drill, your classmate says, "It's only a drill. Let's walk slowly and chat on the way."
老师：你同意他的话吗？为什么？
nǐ tóng yì tā de huà ma wèi shén me
Do you agree with him? Why?
范例：我不同意。演习是让我们练习真的火灾发生时应该怎么做。如果平时不认真，真的发生火灾的时候就会很危险。
wǒ bù tóng yì yǎn xí shì ràng wǒ men liàn xí zhēn de huǒ zāi fā shēng shí yīng gāi zěn me zuò rú guǒ píng shí bú rèn zhēn zhēn de fā shēng huǒ zāi de shí hou jiù huì hěn wēi xiǎn
I don't agree. A drill lets us practise what to do in a real fire. If we aren't serious now, it will be very dangerous when a real fire happens.
💡 Start with 我同意 or 我不同意, then explain with 如果……就…….
老师：如果你在家里闻到烟味，你会怎么做？
rú guǒ nǐ zài jiā lǐ wén dào yān wèi nǐ huì zěn me zuò
If you smelled smoke at home, what would you do?
范例：我会马上告诉爸爸妈妈，和家人一起离开家。我们会走楼梯下楼，不坐电梯，再请大人打电话求救。
wǒ huì mǎ shàng gào su bà ba mā ma hé jiā rén yì qǐ lí kāi jiā wǒ men huì zǒu lóu tī xià lóu bú zuò diàn tī zài qǐng dà rén dǎ diàn huà qiú jiù
I would tell Mum and Dad at once and leave home with my family. We would take the stairs down, not the lift, and ask an adult to call for help.
💡 Say the steps in order with 先……再……, and remember to tell an adult.
老师：为了防火，我们在家里要注意什么？
wèi le fáng huǒ wǒ men zài jiā lǐ yào zhù yì shén me
To prevent fires, what should we be careful about at home?
范例：我们不可以玩火柴和打火机。用完电器要关掉，煮东西的时候，一定要有人看着。
wǒ men bù kě yǐ wán huǒ chái hé dǎ huǒ jī yòng wán diàn qì yào guān diào zhǔ dōng xi de shí hou yí dìng yào yǒu rén kàn zhe
We must not play with matches or lighters. We should switch off appliances after using them, and someone must always watch the stove when cooking.
