💡 大声 (loudly) and an exclamation mark call for 喊道 (shouted). 嘀咕 is muttering quietly, and nobody needs comforting here.
弟弟不想做功课，低着头小声嘀咕：“真没意思。”

💡 小声 (quietly) and an unhappy little remark to himself: that is 嘀咕 (to mutter).

💡 Kind words to someone who is crying are 安慰 (to comfort). 批评 is to criticise.

Grandpa, stroking his beard, said with a smile: "Good child!"
💡 摸着胡子 (stroking his beard) is the usual action for a pleased grandpa. You don't pat or kick a beard.
小华惊喜地问：“这真的是送给我的吗？”
xiǎo huá jīng xǐ de wèn zhè zhēn de shì sòng gěi wǒ de ma
Xiaohua asked, pleasantly surprised: "Is this really for me?"
💡 Being given a present makes you 惊喜 (pleasantly surprised), not angry or sad.
妈妈皱着眉头说：“你怎么又忘了？”

💡 皱着眉头 is frowning, the face that goes with an annoyed question.

💡 Saying someone did well is 表扬 (to praise). 批评 is the opposite.

💡 "Leave it to me!" is a confident answer: 自信地. A scared or sad person wouldn't say it.

Seeing the fireworks in the sky, I couldn't help cheering: "Wow, so pretty!"
💡 A happy "Wow!" is a cheer: 欢呼. 嘀咕 is unhappy muttering, 叮嘱 is reminding someone.

💡 Calming words like 你放心吧 are said 温和地 (gently), not in a hurry or angrily.
三、改病句 Correct the sentence
病句：妈妈说，“快来吃饭吧。”我马上跑进了厨房。

💡 When the speaker words come first, they end with a colon ：before the quotation, and the full stop stays inside the quotation marks.
病句：“你好，”他笑着说：“我叫小明。”说完，他伸出了手。
nǐ hǎo tā xiào zhe shuō wǒ jiào xiǎo míng shuō wán tā shēn chū le shǒu
"Hello," he said with a smile, "I'm Xiaoming." Then he held out his hand. (mistake)

💡 When the speaker words sit in the middle of one piece of speech, they end with a comma ，, not a colon ：.

💡 When the speaker words come after the speech, they end the sentence with a full stop 。, not a colon. The ！ stays inside the quotation marks.

xiǎo míng duì wǒ shuō xiǎo míng míng tiān yí dìng zhǔn shí dào wǒ diǎn le diǎn tóu
Xiaoming said to me: "Xiaoming will definitely be on time tomorrow." I nodded. (mistake)

💡 Inside the quotation marks a speaker talks about himself as 我, not by his own name. The other two drop a full stop or an opening quotation mark.

💡 高兴 describes how he says it, before the verb 说, so it takes 地: 高兴地说.
