晚上，外面下着大雨，还打着雷。
wǎn shang wài miàn xià zhe dà yǔ hái dǎ zhe léi
In the evening it was pouring with rain outside, and there was thunder too.
突然，“啪”的一声，家里的灯全都灭了。
tū rán pā de yì shēng jiā lǐ de dēng quán dōu miè le
Suddenly there was a loud “pop”, and all the lights at home went out.
妹妹吓得大叫，我也有一点害怕。
mèi mei xià de dà jiào wǒ yě yǒu yì diǎn hài pà
My little sister screamed with fright, and I was a bit scared too.
爸爸拿来手电筒，妈妈点亮了两根蜡烛。
bà ba ná lái shǒu diàn tǒng mā ma diǎn liàng le liǎng gēn là zhú
Dad brought a torch, and Mum lit two candles.
我们一家人靠在一起，爸爸给我们讲故事。
