全文 The whole story, with pinyin and English

xīng qī tiān zǎo shang yé ye dài wǒ qù xiǎo fàn zhōng xīn chī zǎo cān

On Sunday morning, Grandpa took me to the hawker centre for breakfast.

xiǎo fàn zhōng xīn lǐ yǒu hěn duō xiǎo tān dào chù dōu shì xiāng wèi

There were lots of little stalls in the hawker centre, and lovely smells everywhere.

mài yóu tiáo de tān wèi qián pái zhe cháng cháng de duì

There was a long queue in front of the stall selling youtiao (fried dough sticks).

wǒ men pái zài duì wu de hòu miàn nài xīn de děng zhe

We joined the end of the queue and waited patiently.

zhōng yú lún dào wǒ men le yé ye mǎi le liǎng gēn yóu tiáo hé yì bēi kā fēi

At last it was our turn. Grandpa bought two youtiao and a cup of coffee.

yé ye ràng wǒ bāng máng fù qián wǒ bǎ qián jiāo gěi le mài yóu tiáo de ā yí

Grandpa let me help pay, so I handed the money to the auntie selling youtiao.

wǒ men zhǎo dào yì zhāng zhuō zi zuò xià lái yóu tiáo yòu xiāng yòu cuì

We found a table and sat down. The youtiao were fragrant and crispy.

yé ye hē zhe kā fēi wǒ chī de bǎo bǎo de xīn li gāo xìng jí le

Grandpa sipped his coffee, I ate until I was full, and I felt ever so happy.
