放学了，爷爷来学校接我回家。
fàng xué le yé ye lái xué xiào jiē wǒ huí jiā
School was over, and Grandpa came to pick me up and take me home.
我们走到马路边，看见红灯亮着。
wǒ men zǒu dào mǎ lù biān kàn jiàn hóng dēng liàng zhe
We walked to the side of the road and saw that the red light was on.
爷爷说：“红灯停，绿灯行，我们要等一等。”
yé ye shuō hóng dēng tíng lǜ dēng xíng wǒ men yào děng yi děng
Grandpa said, “Red means stop, green means go. We have to wait a little.”
过了一会，绿色的小人亮了。
guò le yí huì lǜ sè de xiǎo rén liàng le
After a while, the little green man lit up.
我先看看左边，再看看右边，没有车子开过来。
wǒ xiān kàn kan zuǒ biān zài kàn kan yòu biān méi yǒu chē zi kāi guò lái
First I looked left, then I looked right. No cars were coming.
爷爷拉着我的手，我们从斑马线上走过去。

Grandpa held my hand, and we walked across on the zebra crossing.
我们安全地走到了对面。

We got safely to the other side.
