老师给了我们每人一颗小种子。
lǎo shī gěi le wǒ men měi rén yì kē xiǎo zhǒng zi
Our teacher gave each of us a little seed.
我回到家，把种子种在花盆里。
wǒ huí dào jiā bǎ zhǒng zi zhòng zài huā pén lǐ
When I got home, I planted the seed in a flowerpot.
我每天给它浇水，让它晒晒太阳。
wǒ měi tiān gěi tā jiāo shuǐ ràng tā shài shai tài yáng
Every day I watered it and let it soak up some sunshine.
可是过了好几天，花盆里还是什么也没有。
kě shì guò le hǎo jǐ tiān huā pén lǐ hái shì shén me yě méi yǒu
But after quite a few days, there was still nothing in the pot.
我着急地问妈妈：“我的种子是不是睡着了？”
wǒ zháo jí de wèn mā ma wǒ de zhǒng zi shì bu shì shuì zháo le
I asked Mum anxiously, “Has my seed fallen asleep?”
妈妈说：“别急，种子正在泥土里慢慢长大呢。”
mā ma shuō bié jí zhǒng zi zhèng zài ní tǔ lǐ màn màn zhǎng dà ne
Mum said, “Don't worry. Your seed is growing slowly in the soil right now.”
一天早上，我发现泥土里钻出了两片绿绿的小叶子。
yì tiān zǎo shang wǒ fā xiàn ní tǔ lǐ zuān chū le liǎng piàn lǜ lǜ de xiǎo yè zi
One morning, I found two little bright-green leaves poking out of the soil.
又过了一个月，它开出了一朵黄色的小花，我高兴极了！
yòu guò le yí gè yuè tā kāi chū le yì duǒ huáng sè de xiǎo huā wǒ gāo xìng jí le
A month later it opened a little yellow flower. I was so happy!
