古时候,宋国有一个农夫,每天都在田里辛勤地耕作。
gǔ shí hou sòng guó yǒu yí gè nóng fū měi tiān dōu zài tián li xīn qín de gēng zuò
In ancient times, there was a farmer in the State of Song who worked hard in his field every day.
有一天,一只兔子飞快地跑过来,一头撞在田边的树桩上,倒在地上不动了。
yǒu yì tiān yì zhī tù zi fēi kuài de pǎo guò lai yì tóu zhuàng zài tián biān de shù zhuāng shang dǎo zài dì shang bú dòng le
One day, a rabbit came running very fast, crashed headfirst into the tree stump at the edge of the field, and fell to the ground without moving.
农夫白白捡到一只肥兔子,高兴极了,心想:要是每天都能捡到兔子就好了!
nóng fū bái bái jiǎn dào yì zhī féi tù zi gāo xìng jí le xīn xiǎng yào shi měi tiān dōu néng jiǎn dào tù zi jiù hǎo le
The farmer had got a plump rabbit for nothing. He was overjoyed and thought: if only I could pick up a rabbit every day!
从此,他放下锄头,整天坐在树桩旁边,等着兔子再撞上来。

From then on, he put down his hoe and sat beside the tree stump all day, waiting for another rabbit to crash into it.
