学校下个月要举行跳绳比赛。
xué xiào xià ge yuè yào jǔ xíng tiào shéng bǐ sài
Next month, the school is holding a skipping contest.
我每天放学后都留在学校练习。
wǒ měi tiān fàng xué hòu dōu liú zài xué xiào liàn xí
Every day after school, I stayed behind to practise.
刚开始的时候，绳子常常绊住我的脚。
gāng kāi shǐ de shí hou shéng zi cháng cháng bàn zhù wǒ de jiǎo
At first, the rope kept catching my feet.
我摔了好几次，可是我没有放弃。
wǒ shuāi le hǎo jǐ cì kě shì wǒ méi yǒu fàng qì
I fell over quite a few times, but I didn't give up.
比赛那天，同学们都来为我加油。
bǐ sài nà tiān tóng xué men dōu lái wèi wǒ jiā yóu
