兔子和乌龟比赛跑步，看谁先到终点。
tù zi hé wū guī bǐ sài pǎo bù kàn shéi xiān dào zhōng diǎn
The rabbit and the tortoise had a race to see who would reach the finish line first.
兔子笑着说：“你爬得这么慢，一定会输！”
tù zi xiào zhe shuō nǐ pá de zhè me màn yí dìng huì shū
The rabbit laughed and said, “You crawl so slowly, you're sure to lose!”
比赛开始了，兔子一下子就跑得很远。
bǐ sài kāi shǐ le tù zi yí xià zi jiù pǎo de hěn yuǎn
The race began, and in a flash the rabbit was far ahead.
它回头一看，乌龟还在后面慢慢地爬。
tā huí tóu yí kàn wū guī hái zài hòu miàn màn màn de pá
It looked back. The tortoise was still crawling slowly, far behind.
兔子想：“我先在树下睡一会，再跑也来得及。”
tù zi xiǎng wǒ xiān zài shù xià shuì yí huì zài pǎo yě lái de jí
The rabbit thought, “I'll take a little nap under the tree first. There's plenty of time to run afterwards.”
乌龟没有停下来，一步一步地往前爬。
wū guī méi yǒu tíng xià lái yí bù yí bù de wǎng qián pá
The tortoise didn't stop. It kept crawling forward, step by step.
等兔子醒来的时候，乌龟已经到了终点。
děng tù zi xǐng lái de shí hou wū guī yǐ jīng dào le zhōng diǎn
By the time the rabbit woke up, the tortoise had already reached the finish line.
