上个星期六，学校举办了海滩清洁活动。

Last Saturday, our school held a beach clean-up.
一大早，老师就带着我们来到海边。

Early in the morning, our teacher took us to the seaside.
沙滩上有很多垃圾，有塑料瓶、汽水罐，还有废纸。

They are recycling bins, for paper, plastic and aluminium cans. Sorting rubbish for recycling cuts down waste and protects the environment.

I think it is because some people come to the beach, finish eating, and just drop their rubbish on the sand instead of putting it in a bin.

三、会话 Conversation
情景：你在组屋楼下看见一个小朋友喝完饮料，把空罐子随手丢在地上。
nǐ zài zǔ wū lóu xià kàn jiàn yí gè xiǎo péng yǒu hē wán yǐn liào bǎ kōng guàn zi suí shǒu diū zài dì shang
Downstairs at your HDB block, you see a child finish a drink and drop the empty can on the ground.
老师：如果你看到这个情况，你会怎么做？为什么？
rú guǒ nǐ kàn dào zhè ge qíng kuàng nǐ huì zěn me zuò wèi shén me
If you saw this, what would you do? Why?
范例：我会有礼貌地提醒他：“小朋友，请把罐子丢进垃圾桶吧。”因为乱丢垃圾会让环境变脏，还会引来蚊子和老鼠。如果他不听，我会自己把罐子捡起来丢掉。
wǒ huì yǒu lǐ mào de tí xǐng tā xiǎo péng yǒu qǐng bǎ guàn zi diū jìn lā jī tǒng ba yīn wèi luàn diū lā jī huì ràng huán jìng biàn zāng hái huì yǐn lái wén zi hé lǎo shǔ rú guǒ tā bù tīng wǒ huì zì jǐ bǎ guàn zi jiǎn qǐ lai diū diào
I would politely remind him: "Please put the can in the bin." Littering makes the place dirty and brings mosquitoes and rats. If he didn't listen, I would pick the can up and throw it away myself.

Yes. Once in the park I saw a man drop a tissue on the grass. I felt it was a pity, because the park belongs to everyone and we should all look after it. Then I picked up the tissue and put it in the bin.
